NYC's Upper East Side — A month ago on Manhattan's Upper East Side, a police officer adopted a puppy that she had assisted in removing from a hot automobile.
A dog was extricated from a parked car on June 18 according to WPIX. According to reports, the dog spent roughly two hours stuck inside the automobile.
According to a tweet from the New York Police Department's 19th Precinct in June, worried citizens who noticed the puppy in the car dialed 911. When the police arrived, they discovered the automobile and observed that the windows were hot, the dog was in discomfort, and the engine was off. After that, the officers shattered the window to free the dog and take him to the veterinarian.
On Wednesday, the NYPD 19th Precinct tweeted that one of its officers, Officer Maharaj, had adopted the puppy and that he would no longer be abandoned. She was one of the policemen who helped save the dog.
According to the NYPD 19th Precinct, "This beautiful doggo was rescued one month ago when his owner left him in his hot locked car for hours; yesterday, one of its rescuers, Officer Maharaj, adopted him."
Since his rescue, the dog has received care from the ASPCA, according to the NYPD 19th Precinct.
But, the probe is still ongoing.
