Dog sees owner again after missing for seven years: ‘So many happy tears’

Losing a pet is always heartbreaking, but it's important not to lose hope. Sometimes pets come back into our lives months or years after they are gone.

That was the case recently after a dog that had been missing for seven years was reunited with its owner.

His two dogs, named Starski and Hutch, disappeared from their Fauquier County home seven years before him, according to a Facebook post from Spotsylvania Animal Shelter in Virginia.

Losing two dogs at once is doubly heartbreaking and I can't imagine what owners went through all those years ago.

A small dog was recently found on the streets of Spotsylvania and taken to a shelter. Luckily, the staff found a microchip that could identify the dog's owner.

They called the owner and were stunned to learn that the dog had been missing for seven years. It was Starsky who was eventually found.

A photo shared by the shelter showed Starsky reuniting with his owner, who cried "many tears of joy." In the comments, the shelter also shared a video of the heartwarming moment.

"I'm so excited that his family is reunited and that we were able to play a small part," the shelter wrote.

Sadly, Hutch remains missing, but Starsky's unexpected reappearance shows that miracles do happen, giving owners a newfound sense that one day Hutch might find his way home, too. hope”.

Spotsylvania Animal Shelter also took this opportunity to encourage pets to be microchipped to make such amazing reunions possible.

So happy to have Starsky back home after 7 years! We know his owners are thrilled to have him back and they will make up for lost time.
