It's possible that Luciano Karosas, a native of Berazategui in Buenos Aires, is one of the most generous persons you'll ever meet. You see, after the ailing dog had already been turned away by four other homes, Luciano consciously adopted a dog who only had a few weeks to live.
Thanos the dog, formerly known as Coconut, had a malignant growth developing on his head. When Luciano took Thanos in, he had a severe tumor and just a few weeks to live.
As caring for the adorable dog and his sickness grew too much for his family, they tragically had to give him up.
Many families tried to take him in, but they all discovered that they simply couldn't handle the severity of his disease and everything that it entailed. As a result, Thanos found himself back at an animal shelter, where he encountered Luciano.
The moment Thanos and 21-year-old Luciano met at the shelter, Luciano was moved by Thanos's story and wanted to take him home and give him unconditional love for the rest of his days. He claimed, "I came out with a piece of my heart in my hand.
Luciano, though, resisted acknowledging that there was nothing that he could do to stop Thanos. He took him to the veterinarian to see if they could do surgery.
"I had a hard time getting used to the thought of how little time we would spend together. He had been given 40 days to live, so I went him to a stem cell veterinarian to see what we could do for a little more hope. However, the veterinarian informed me that there is no cure to extend that time "explained Luciano.
Luciano determined to make the most of the time he had left with Thanos after accepting the depressing realization that there was nothing he could do to save him.
He lavished Thanos with attention and made every effort to keep him content.
Thanos tragically passed away earlier this year, and Luciano said on social media, "I will love you forever," and wished him a "nice trip."
Rest in peace, Thanos!
