In Ukraine, Alexei Surovtsev is highly recognized. He has gained a large following as an actor, striptease champion, and participant on his nation's version of Dancing With The Stars. Nonetheless, Surovtsev's most enduring portrayal is that of a hero.
He goes by the moniker "Cat Saviour of Irpin" because of his work rescuing trapped animals from battle zones in his birthplace. Yet, "Pet Savior" is a more fitting moniker because Surovtsev also saves dogs and other animals. A pair of chinchillas that he assisted in rescuing from the rubble of the city may be seen in one of his Instagram videos.
The athletic animal lover frequently ventures into Irpin's most perilous locales, returning with "20 to 30 tails" each day, the majority of them abandoned by their evading owners. Some are sent to friends who will move them to different towns and countries, while others are reunited with their original families.
Social media posts also show Surovtsev offering food, drink, and loads of love to a number of animals at his own home. Others are taken to the ASTI clinic, which he refers to in his posts, where sick or hurt animals receive medical attention and temporary refuge.
There are still a lot of animals on the streets, Surovtsev writes, despite the fact that many people are going back to their houses. "Everyone is fed and given water. We will be able to house even more animals there in a week when new shelter rooms at the ASTI clinic are finished.
Then, he continues, "the tailed ones are very much waiting for you and very much hope that one day they will find a home again." He adds that a website is being established to offer the animals for adoption.
Surovtsev's valiant efforts are evident while looking at his video updates. In one video, he enters a burning structure and emerges carrying a litter of defenseless kittens.
In another, gunfire ring out as Surovtsev searches amid the debris of his beloved city for its most helpless victims. This is what he does, according to the post, "almost every day."
”Yes, it’s dangerous! Yes, it’s hard! Yes, scary! But when you see these frightened, devoted eyes, you realize that it is not in vain,” Surovtsev writes.
Surovtsev, who has won three striptease competitions, was chosen the best stripper in Ukraine in 2007 by World Happenings. Also, he has made appearances on Sled, a television detective program, and Ukraine's Dancing with the Stars.
