After 225 days in the shelter, the "Heartbreaker" rescue dog who was standing at his adoption party finds a home.

Although no one came up to his Valentine's Day-themed adoption party, Luke the 5-year-old rescue dog is now residing in a loving family.

Luke, a dog who was saved, has now found true love.

The 5-year-old shelter dog from Kent, England, gained the moniker "heartbreaker" in February after making headlines for being rejected at his adoption party with a Valentine's Day theme. Luke had slept at the Battersea Brands Hatch shelter for more than 200 days before to the poorly attended event.

According to a press statement from Battersea, Luke's narrative of being unlucky in love affected many people who were "shattered" over the dog having a party when no one showed up. As word of the dog's misfortune traveled around the world, Battersea Brands Hatch began to receive a deluge of letters from Luke's expanding fan base. Numerous people expressed their desire to adopt the dog with letters, gifts, toys, and handwritten messages that they sent to the pup.

After learning that Luke had been rejected at his Valentine's Day adoption party, numerous people expressed interest in taking the puppy home, including Karl and Jill Kendrick of Derbyshire, England. After learning more about the Kendricks, Battersea Brands Hatch concluded that Luke would be best served by the couple and his two girls as his forever family.

After spending 225 days at the shelter, Luke moved in with the Kendricks to see if the family was a good fit for him before leaving Battersea. After a few weeks, Luke has fallen in love with his new house and adapted well to life away from the kennels.

After spending more than two years at an Ohio shelter, a 9-year-old dog may have found a forever home.

"I don't understand how Luke was cared for by Battersea for so long; any new owner would have been fortunate to rehome him. Since we got him home, he has shown to be the ideal dog and has really adapted well. We immediately adore him and wouldn't trade him for anything "In a statement, Karl Kendrick welcomed Luke into the family.

"Several of our dogs have made news throughout the years, but none of our dogs have ever managed to win as many people over as Luke did. It is evident that hundreds of people fell in love with this particularly exceptional youngster because they received gifts in the mail and love messages in the mail.

We're thrilled that Luke has finally gotten the devoted home he deserves and that so many people support rescue dogs like him "Battersea Brands Hatch center manager Michelle Bevan said.
